About Us
Hello, I'm Sandra – a passionate wildlife photographer originally from Gilching, Bavaria. Today, I live with my husband Matthias in the beautiful Black Forest – and have found not only my home, but also my personal natural paradise.
Animals have fascinated me my entire life. Even as a child, I preferred being outdoors to being indoors, preferably with binoculars, a book about animals, and a healthy dose of adventure in tow. This love of nature has remained – only today, instead of an animal encyclopedia, I carry my camera.
Together with Matthias, photography has become a true collaborative project. While I focus on capturing the perfect shot, he takes care of the rest: as a spotter with binoculars, a driver on rough trails, a companion on all my travels, and a supporter in everything that comes with it.
In his free time, Matthias swaps his business suit and legal texts for binoculars and outdoor clothing. Together, we discover every trace of wildlife. Without him, many of our experiences would not be possible. We complement each other perfectly – in life and in the wild.
Our shared passion is observing animals in the wild—whether in our local Black Forest or on safari in Africa, Asia, or Central America. I love discovering animals in their natural habitat and capturing that special moment: authentic, unposed, and full of emotion.
But what's even more rewarding for me than pressing the shutter button? Being able to share my enthusiasm with others. A few years ago, a friend introduced me to photography workshops – today I regularly lead courses in the Black Forest. These aren't just about technique, but also about patience, respect, and the right feel for natural moments. The camera is just the tool – the heart creates the picture.
I've become particularly fond of projects like the Belize Zoo – a sanctuary for injured or orphaned wild animals that wouldn't be able to survive in the wild. Places like these demonstrate the importance of true nature conservation. Our national parks here in Germany and in other countries are also doing amazing things and need more attention. Because only by protecting nature can we experience it.
